2001 15.1hh BAY ASH MARE (REG 163211)
Wenona Amy

WENONA AMY

Foundation mare Wenona Amy arrived to the McArthurs Stock Horse Farm located just north of Okotoks, Alberta in July 2008 from Keystone Stock Horses in Pennsylvania, USA. A richly colored dapple bay mare, foaled in 2001 in NSW Australia, Wenona Amy was raised at the home of RJ & JP Aitken active, proven ASH breeders.

Sired by Breffni Kidman, a consistent dynamic performance horse with head turning looks and confirmation. He excelled in many disciplines including winning a host of National Awards. He was Supreme National Led exhibit as a 2 year old, National Champion Led Stallion three times and National Champion Hack. He has won or placed in every Working class, winning many Champions and Supremes and also won a Campdraft and Placed at National level. Wenona Benchmark, a full sibling to Wenona Amy, was the top priced yearling at the 2002 Nationals.

This mare was originally imported as the Keystone Stock Horse foundation mare and now moves on to be Canada's first Australian Stock Horse (and dam of the first ASH foal born in Canada). To date her young prodigies carry the qualities of eye appeal, temperament, trainability, and confirmation.

FOUNDATION AUSTRALIAN STOCK HORSE
2004 15.0hh BRIGHT BAY ASH MARE (REG 171685)
Yallatup Regina

Yallatup Regina

Looking very much like the traditional, old-time ASH, she's proving herself to be just as hearty and willing as her ancestors, a true testament to her ASH bloodlines.

Bred by Glen Gough of Yallatup Stud, this is what he had to say about her breeding and type: "Her mother was gifted to me by a past President of the ASH Society, Alisair Irving, who I was on the board with. He was killed by a horse falling, and his wife rang and said that he would have liked me to have one of his horses and she sent Warrigal Creek Gippy up to me from Victoria. I was touched by that gesture, and do consider her probably my best type of broodmare. Gippy had a bad hind leg injury, and was broken in only, and not ridden much.

Grandsire, Yallatup Regal Remedy, I sold and he remains the highest priced ASH in Australia. He was selected as an Australian exhibit, and I used him to demonstrate at the Olympic Horse Arena, and two Equitanas for the ASH. I considered him the best all round horse in Australia, and while I had him, I advertised in two full page adverts, challenging any horse in Australia over ten different disciplines -- There were no serious takers. He won a dressage comp, hacks, 5 campdrafts and many supreme working competitions (National Champion and twice Supreme at Sydney Royal.)

I consider little Yallatup Regina to be one of my best bred fillies."

2002 15.0hh BAY ARGENTINE THOROUGHBRED MARE
Miss Lawson

This lovely natured young Argentine Thoroughbred Polo mare began Polocrosse training with Sam Darmody early in 2009 and was showing a great deal of talent until an unfortunate paddock injury forced an early sojourn to the broodmare band. With her solid type and sweet nature, we can't say that we are too disappointed however, and we can't wait to see her foal by Cadabra due early in 2010.
